About the job
Our Team:
The CSU (Clinical Study Unit) is a strategic function driving the end-to-end development of our assets to deliver innovative therapies to patients, leading the evolution of the external health care environment, partner early with investigators, patients and stakeholders; deliver our clinical programs by implementing the medical, digital and product strategic ambition of Sanofi, support local market preparation and enhance company reputation.
Main responsibilities:
  • Organise, manage, and lead Clinical Studies Unit (CSU) in the country and define the strategy to ensure the optimal implementation of Sanofi clinical studies plan
  • Oversee clinical operations in the country and be accountable for deliverables that are strategically aligned with both local and global clinical development and medical plans
  • Be a key leader and contributor to the effective functioning and connectivity of the CSU
  • Drive the strategy of the country, influence the global feasibility and lead new and innovative ways of working
  • Ensure clinical studies are performed according to milestones, with quality, cost efficiency while maintaining ethical values and regulatory compliance
  • Prioritize programs if any conflicts, contributing to the local market preparation and where applicable leverage relevant networks to support key products for the business, ensure strong interaction
  • Provide clinical development expertise to local medical affairs, contribute to local pharma industry and patient associations and promotes Sanofi
  • Represent R&D at the affiliate, be the link between R&D, Sanofi partners, the country affiliate, and be vital in maintaining optimal business relationships with our partners & stakeholders, including functions within the affiliate
  • Foster digital innovation and drive change management and new ways of working in the country clinical research environment, in collaboration with medical communities and local health authorities
  • Collaborate closely with the CSU Cluster Head and cluster countries
About you
Education:
  • Educated to degree level in a science or medical speciality (MSc, MD, PharmD, PhD)
Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in Clinical Research
  • Advanced managerial experience of at least 3 years
Knowledge and technical skills:
  • Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of GCP and the regulatory/ethical framework pertaining to clinical trials
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of professional staff, in an open, frank and professional manner, building good working relationships with colleagues, peers and subordinates
  • Proficiency in complex trial management, in-depth Knowledge of drug development process
  • Knowledge & understanding of Geographic area of responsibility (Culture, Regulations, Language and Business Value)
  • Data Analytics (& Digital) skills; monitor the data, assess trends and benchmarks data to make decisions
Languages:
  • Hebrew language proficiency
  • Fluent English

  • Business Acumen: strategic goals, short-term and long-term planning. Prioritise team needs to focus on to make an impact on business. Strategic vision of company, country, and outside world evolution
  • Interpersonal & Relationship Management: Influence, inspire and encourage people to think in a certain direction without force whilst acknowledging their opinions
  • Advanced Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • People management including ability to inspire, influence and encourage teams to think and work in accordance to company goals and to work in transversal teams
  • Game Changing Emotional Intelligence: Keep patients, customers and Sanofi at the forefront of decision making. Stretch out of comfort zone, take responsibility, and leverage power of questions to deliver on needs
  • Decision making through monitoring data, assessing trends and benchmark data, planning and organizational skills, ability to arbitrate in difficult situations, to prioritize behaviors at all times
  • Proven leadership ability and capabilities to operate and influence cross-functionally and cross-culturally to include stakeholder management (mapping, knowing and engaging)
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
